How to Show Time One Hour Earlier in the Data-Viewer Web Part

Bamboo’s Data-Viewer Web Part fills the gap with a variety of capabilities contained in a single component: connect to lists or libraries across sites and site collections, SQL server tables or views (even add, modify, and delete entries), Bamboo List Rollup Schemas, or Business Connectivity Services. Bamboo Data-Viewer Web Part is beyond just a simple grid view. Data-Viewer Web Part allows you to customize the information displayed, providing the capability to tailor each instance of Data-Viewer Web Part to a set audience.

Challenge

One may not understand why the Data-Viewer Web Part shows the time one hour earlier or how to fix it. We realized that this issue happens when changing the time zone to “(UTC-08:00) Pacific Time (US and Canada)” in the Regional setting. In this article, I’ll show you how to reproduce this issue and resolve it.

How to change My Regional Settings in SharePoint 2013

To begin, click on the arrow next to User Account on the top-right page, then select About Me.

Click on Edit your profile.

Click on Additional Settings, then select Language and Region.

In the Edit Details section, under Region and Choose your settings field, select Always use my personal settings.

When you select this option, any changes in Language, Region, and Time Zone sections will be applied when the
current user logs into the site.

Return to the site containing the Bamboo Data-Viewer Web Part. Look at the Date Time column and you will see that it displays one hour earlier.
