Greetings from SharePoint Fest D.C.!

Taking place through tomorrow (8/7) at the Bethesda North Marriott Conference Center, SharePoint Fest D.C. is in full swing and, as always, your faithful Bamboo Nation reporters are on the scene.

In addition to the editorial staff, today sees Sean Mason and Hanif Khalid from the Sales team onsite and manning the Bamboo booth (G 10). They’ll be at the booth today through tonight’s happy hour from 5:30-6:30, so if you haven’t had a chance to stop yet, grab a cocktail at the reception, come to say “hi,” and help yourself to one of our (back in stock after we were cleaned out at FOSE) ever-popular pandas. Want to see a Bamboo product demo at the booth? Just ask!

Shortly after I arrived this morning, I had a chance to catch up with Joel Oleson, who’s particularly excited about the session on SharePoint mobile technology he’ll be delivering tomorrow afternoon. Joel’s also excited about next month’s Sharing the Point Tour of Northern South America, during which the intrepid STP gang will bring the SharePoint love to Guyana, Venezuela, Columbia, and Ecuador.

Later in the day, I caught up with Dux Raymond Sy, who will be delivering the keynote here at SharePoint Fest tomorrow morning. And speaking of keynotes, regarding Dux’s conference-related doings later in the year, stay tuned for an exciting announcement coming soon from Bamboo.

When I wasn’t rubbing elbows with SharePoint royalty today, I was catching some sessions, so check out my session reports on Jeremy Thake’s The App Building Playbook for the SharePoint 2013 Marketplace and Naomi Moneypenny’s Yamming it up: Collaboration Beyond SharePoint…then check back for Julie’s reports from Wednesday!
