HW60 File Share Library for SharePoint 2010 Release 20.5.87 (File version 20.5.87)
New Features:
• File share items can be opened directly from the browser without having to save locally.
• Sync frequency can be set in minutes.
• File Share Library can be configured to automatically import items added to the file share.
• Users can export files from SharePoint to the file share using the ribbon or context menu.
• Added support for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari browsers.
• Specific file share subfolders can be included or excluded from syncing to SharePoint.
• File sizes for items stored in the file share are listed in the ‘Size’ column.
• The creators of Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents are listed in the ‘Creator’ column.
• Details related to the most recent sync are listed in the File Share Library Settings.
• General user interface and experience improvements.
Resolved Issues:
• Commas become underscores, and slashes become dashes in the file name after synchronizing files from a network file share.
• When activating or de-activating the Bamboo File Share Library Large Files Feature, it does not back up the web. config file.
• A link to an item in a File Share Library, such as the link provided from the “E-mail a Link” option in the Documents ribbon, does not work if the item is stored in the network file share.
• When an item is renamed in the network file share, the original placeholder file in the File Share Library is marked as unavailable and a new placeholder is created with the new file name.
• If a file is renamed in the File Share Library, the change is not reflected in the network file share.
Known Issues:
• The File Share Library timer job still exists after deleting a site containing a File Share Library. Workaround: Deactivate the “Bamboo File Share Library Master Timer Job” feature in Central Administration and reset IIS before reactivating.
• Automatically imported jpg images with CMYK encoding must be saved before viewing.
• When opening a large file and using a UAG server, “The page cannot be displayed” is shown. Workaround: configure UAG server, see instructions: http://blogs.technet.com/b/keithab/archive/2014/04/08/http-500-error-when-downloading-files-larger-than-10mb-through-uag-2010.aspx
• PDF documents must be saved or imported before opening in the browser.
• If using Office Web Apps with files stored on the file share, clicking “View in Browser” or “Edit in Brower” in the context menu results in an error message. Clicking on the items directly allows these files to be downloaded/opened.
• Drag-and-drop uploading is not supported.
• Additional content types added to File Share Library are not available for creating new items.
• File Share Library does not support Windows Explorer mode, so the “Open with Windows Explorer” option in the Library ribbon is disabled.
• File Share Library does not support versioning when files are stored in the network file share.
• The “New Document” option is hidden in the Documents ribbon.
• Item status icons may not refresh until the File Share Library page is reloaded.
• Attempting to upload files larger than 2 GB may result in a 404 error. To work around this issue, add files larger than 2 GB directly to the network file share and wait for them to sync to the File Share Library.
• If an instance of File Share Library is connected to a Video Library, the network file share path cannot be changed and the File Share Library cannot be deleted until either the connected Video Library is deleted or the connection is reset in the Video Library Settings page.
• The following file types are not supported in File Share Library: MHTML, WSP, EXE, DLL, MSI, CHM.
• Tree View Web Part does not support File Share Libraries.
• When you create a new File Share Library from a template, the File Share Library Settings are blank.
• File Share Library is not supported with SharePoint Workspaces or other Web Service applications.
• The following configuration scenarios are not supported:
• The network file share and SharePoint servers are in different trusted domains.
• The network file share and SharePoint servers are in the same domain, but the network file share access account is in another domain that is part of a trusted Active Directory forest.
