This week in Bamboo, we rolled out a major release for Navigators Web Part Release 2.0, minor releases for User Account Setup Web Part Release 4.1, and Bamboo Knowledge Base Release 2.3. At the same time patches for Project Management Central, List Search Simple Web Part, and Rating Column for SharePoint 2013 were also released to the storefront. For a complete list of bug fixes, great new features, limitations, and known issues about the new releases, please see below.

HW55 Navigators Web Part for SharePoint 2013 Release R2.0.45.2013 (File version 20.0.45.2013)

New Features:

• Drag & Drop Menu Editor:
  • Browser-based menu builder allows the creation of custom mega menus with a simple drag-and-drop interface.
  • Add new menu tabs and rich content including images, text, and links.
  • Customize individual element properties or apply styling to all elements within a tab.
  • Arrange and rearrange content and adjust the size with dragging and dropping.
  • The live preview allows tracking changes in real time.
• Create custom tabs that allow embedding external web content within a tab container (IFrame).

Bug Fixes:

• Ability to add extra white space between menu text and arrow elements using custom CSS.

Limitations:

• Megamenu content may be hidden if the sub-menus opens above the tab strip.
• Megamenu content may be hidden if the container width exceeds a certain limit (e.g. 1400px; depending on the screen size).
• Styles & Colors for menu items created from the Navigators list view are not customizable using the Drag & Drop Menu Editor.
• The sub-menu container may not fit the width of the tab strip after resizing the web part zone.
• After migrating, if an icon’s URL value contained an absolute path, the web part tool pane may not be accessible (Workaround: Modify the URL structure from the Navigators List view to access the tool pane).
• Custom styles do not migrate to SharePoint 2013. (Workaround: Move the custom style sheet file from SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013 manually. E.g. Move “…TabStripSkinsCustomSkinstyle.css” from SharePoint 2010 to “TabStripSkinsCustomSkinTabStrip.CustomSkin.css” in SharePoint 2013).
• Border Radius and Box Shadow properties are not supported on Internet Explorer 8.

Known Issues:

• The “Add New” menu tab button may appear occasionally when the page is not in edit mode (Please clear your browser cache [Ctrl + F5]).
• The “Resend Information” or “Leave this page” message prompt appears when trying to add a second menu tab using the “Add New” button.
• The Web Part settings tool pane Text Editor function is not compatible with Chrome and Firefox browsers.
• The Drag & Drop Menu Editor is not compatible with Safari browsers.

• Creating users in the root domain fails.
• Password policy text changed to “Minimum required characters for a password:”

New Known Issues:

• Non-IE browsers may show HTML tags in a rich text box.

• Web parts point to the Admin/Client site default, simplifying manual configuration.
• Updated application text and default settings for clearer and easier setup and user experience.

Includes updated versions of the following components:

• HW37 Data-Viewer Web Part R3.6.110.2013.
• HW55 Navigators Web Part R1.5.75.2013.
• HW12 Group Redirect Web Part R2.3.33.2013.

Known Issues:

• After installing the German language to an English server and all features, site templates, and related web parts are activated, creating an English site with the Utility tool fails.
• Anonymous users are required to log in to use the DateTime picker in the KB Search.
• A username and password are required when clicking the DateTime picker in KB Search.
• When using the 2010 legacy UI, users may see a JavaScript error when clicking on a chart in the KB Report.
• When using the 2010 legacy UI and IE10, users may see a JavaScript error when clicking on the color icon in the rich text editor.
• When using the 2010 legacy UI in a Microsoft Unified Access Gateway (UAG) environment, PDF conversion may fail.
• A JavaScript error may occur when formatting fonts in the Article Text field, Answer field or Answer Question Web Part.
• When using KB Search in a Microsoft Unified Access Gateway (UAG) environment, users may see the error message “Object does not support property or method”.
• Alternate language site templates (e.g. German) are not available in this version.

Limitations:

• The navigation tabs for the client and admin KB sites may not disappear when upgrading from SharePoint 2010 to 2013. Run the KB Upgrade Utility from the product installer to restore these tabs after installing the latest version of Knowledge Base.
• The function to export the report to Excel is unavailable when using the Sencha Chart.

SA05 Bamboo Knowledge Base for SharePoint 2010 Release 2.3.10 (File version 20.3.10)

New Features:

Resolved Customer-Reported Bugs and Known Issues:

• Error when connecting to PMC Tasks list when using Addin with MS Project – German.
• Invalid date/time value when using Addin with MS Project – German to import tasks.
• The My Tasks web part under the My Summary tab displayed the message “My Tasks Can’t get Tasks counts: the query cannot be completed because the number of lists in the query exceeded the allowable limit”.
• Users without the appropriate permissions can remove users from a SharePoint group.
• Improved Gantt performance.

New Known Issues:

• When clicking on the black color bar in the Gantt Chart to see a user’s information, you are taken to PMCentralPages instead of the User Information page.
