The Bamboo Panda has landed. Well, sort of. Heavy rains and
overcast greeted me upon my arrival. Then I received word that my colleagues’ flight was
delayed. Ho-hum. Nevertheless, I hopped into a cab headed to downtown Denver. The driver
was more than happy to tell me what’s hot – and not – in the area. By the time I
reached the hotel, the rain stopped and sunshine peaked through the clouds. Hey,
it’s going to be a glorious day after all!
After finding my way to the Convention Center, I quickly routed myself to the 16th
Street Mall, a 1.25-mile pedestrian mall that boasts lots of stores, Starbucks (I counted four!), many restaurants with outdoor eating areas, pavilions, street
entertainers, and more. Did I mention shopping? Free shuttle buses (MallRide) help
make the walk back to your starting point easier in the event you’re loaded down with
bags from too much shopping – or simply too tired for the trek back. I opted to walk the corridor to get a glimpse of the heart of Denver.
It looks like the rest of the gang has finally arrived so we’re about to
head over to the Convention Center to set-up the booth for SharePoint Fest. We’re looking forward
to seeing you!
