RESTON, VA (PRWEB) JULY 30, 2004

Bamboo Solutions Corporation is a software development company. It provides collaborative software solutions to government and industry. Presently, it has announced that it had been selected by Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation (TUPCF). As a result, it will develop and host it’s Grant Management Information System (GMIS). The three-year, $312K contract was awarded after an extensive vendor evaluation conducted by Technical Merit Inc., of Cleveland, Ohio. The GMIS contract includes the development and leasing of the web-hosted solution based on Bamboo Solutions Grant.trak product.

In support of its work to develop a comprehensive and aggressive plan to foster tobacco prevention and cessation efforts in the state of Ohio, TUPCF funds activities through grants. Grant management is quickly expected to become time intensive as TUPCF grows. Although it is a manual and paper-based process. Whereas, the new system will assist in automating the entire grant management process. Not to mention with special emphasis on the day-to-day management of ongoing grants.

GMIS is accessible around the clock. It will allow grantees to apply, submit and track grant applications over the Internet. As a result, GMIS will help grant specialists streamline the current paper-based post-award processes. This includes task management, communication logs, document management, and financial budget reporting. The GMIS system will combine information currently stored in various formats and systems. Furthermore, TUPCF staff will search through information efficiently. Because of this, email notifications, revision control, online reporting, and workflow tools will help automate the entire grant application process. This starts from pre-award through post-award. Thereafter, multiple levels of security ensure the integrity of GMIS information. In conclusion, the GMIS will simplify the grant application process. Undeniably, they will enable grant program project managers to serve their customers better.

TUPCF Executive Director Mike Renner said the following…
“Bamboo Solutions will help us streamline and expedite the processing of over $17 million in grants. These are grants we administer each year. By digitizing the entire grant process from application to administration, Grant.trak allows us to concentrate our efforts on other priorities. Such priorities are developing, supporting, and evaluating effective programs. In short, tobacco use in the state of Ohio will be significantly reduced.”

The use of Grant.trak significantly expedites the deployment of the TUPCF-specific solution. Grant.trak is a vertical application built upon Bamboo Solutions application development platform. Evidently, it provides the framework to capture, manage, track, edit, audit, and share grant information.

The TUPCF grant management information system is currently scheduled for installation in September 2004.
