Editor’s note:
Longtime readers may recall our “New Faces” series, in which we would introduce the new faces of Bamboo Nation. Here’s our latest crop of new hires that we are excited to acquaint you with! Without further ado, we would like to introduce Danielle Stewardson!
When did you join the Bamboo Solutions team, and what is your role?
I joined the Bamboo Solutions team on June 23, 2014, as a Support Engineer.
What are your personal goals regarding your position for the next year?
My primary goal is to develop knowledge of and troubleshooting skills on all 70 products that Bamboo Solutions has to offer. As a Support Engineer, my job is to troubleshoot and advise the customers through any issues they are having related to one of Bamboo Solution’s products.
What’s your professional background?
Prior to working at Bamboo Solutions, I was a Systems Administrator for a Government Contracting Agency located in Fairfax, VA. I was initially hired as the Office Administrator/Manager, but I was promoted as a Quality Assurance Manager, Facility Security Officer, SharePoint Administrator, and Systems Administrator throughout my years of employment there. My favorite part of my job was the Systems Administrator/SharePoint Administrator. I fell in love with IT over the seven years of managing my prior company’s IT infrastructure.
What prompted you to join the Bamboo team?
Support Engineers who interviewed me gave me a glimpse of how friendly and funny the rest of the Bamboo staff is.
What were some of your first impressions of working at Bamboo?
My first impression of working at Bamboo Solutions was the staff is very friendly. The Senior Support Engineers trained the Support members to be knowledgeable and friendly to the customers to ensure the customers have a great experience working with Bamboo Solutions Support Engineers.
With over 70 products to learn, do you feel overwhelmed? What’s your strategy for getting up to speed?
Yes, I felt completely overwhelmed working with over 70 products, but luckily my colleagues have been more than helpful in assisting me through troubleshooting tickets or product information. I try to study at least three products a week to ensure that I understand the back and front end of each product to get me up to speed on troubleshooting customer issues.
Other than your deep and abiding love of extending SharePoint, what interests or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
I enjoy hanging out with my friends and family and doing anything that involves being outdoors.
