Editor’s note: Longtime readers may recall our “New Faces” series, in which we would introduce our new hires to Bamboo Nation. Shamefully, my count, there are nearly 20 “new” faces at Bamboo since the series last appeared (in the spring of 2011!). In other words, we’re long overdue to make some introductions, so let’s not delay any longer, and continue making up for lost time…
When did you join the Bamboo Solutions team, and what is your role?
I joined Bamboo Solutions in April of 2013 as Sales Team Lead for EMEA and APAC. I can be reached phone at 44 (0) 203.598.2917 ext. 5009, and email at email@example.com.
What are your personal goals regarding your position for the remainder of 2013?
My primary goal is to introduce novel approaches for the EMEA and APAC markets that will help increase sales of Bamboo products in those regions. My second-most important goal–and one which is very important to me–is to ensure that my team has confidence in me as a good mentor, and that they feel at ease at work.
What’s your professional background?
I previously worked for a large software outsourcing company and product development startup with a focus in sales and marketing. I also have several years of business development experience in medical software, along with a project management and resource management background.
What prompted you to join the Bamboo team?
The “Bamboo Family” consists of a very friendly and positive atmosphere. The company also offers lots of potential for discovery in regards to enterprise software for me personally. Because of this, I was very glad to join Bamboo Solutions, a team of true professionals and simply nice people.
What were some of your first impressions of working at Bamboo?
My first impression was: “WOW, this will be interesting!” The most important thing that I immediately noticed was that the Bamboo management team welcomes all their employees’ ideas, and since I like being proactive and interacting with customers, Bamboo seemed perfect for me. Being able to have flexibility in interacting with customers is also great, as it allows one to really take the time to determine the correct approach needed when interacting with each unique customer.
With over 70 products to learn, do you feel overwhelmed? What’s your strategy for getting up to speed?
All Bamboo’s products are very interesting and allows for a very informative and structured flow of information and new knowledge. Because of this, I don’t feel overwhelmed. My strategy is to find out how each product works and which problems it solves, and then try to understand and learn each product’s key features. Taking this approach in dealing with, and engaging with all the products Bamboo has to offer really helps me.
Other than your deep and abiding love of extending SharePoint, what interests or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
I am a bright, outgoing, and forceful red-haired lass with a long, wild, curly, fiery red mane of hair and light blue eyes. I enjoy traveling, reading, baking, cooking, belly dancing, playing piano, writing, and living my life like in a Disney fairy-tale.
