New Faces of Bamboo: Introducing Oleg Babay

New Faces of Bamboo: Introducing Oleg Babay

Editor’s note: Longtime readers may recall our “New Faces” series, in which we would introduce our new hires to Bamboo Nation. Shamefully, my count, there are nearly 20 “new” faces at Bamboo since the series last appeared (in the spring of 2011!). In other words, we’re long overdue to make some introductions, so let’s not delay any longer, and continue making up for lost time…

When did you join the Bamboo Solutions team, and what is your role?

I joined the Bamboo team on April 22, 2013, and I hold the position of Sales Manager. I can be reached by phone at 44 (0) 203.598.2917 ext. 5011, and email at oleg.babay@bamboosolutions.com.

What are your personal goals regarding your position for the remainder of 2013?

My personal goal, in general, is to be successful! I want to find new customers in the countries assigned to me in which Bamboo already has clients, along with working to improve relations with the existing clients in these countries as well.  I also want to create strong and promising leads within new territories, ensure that I make my own contribution to our company’s development, and be noted as an “Employee of the Month” at least once at the end of the year.

What’s your professional background?

I was previously working as a Purchasing and Logistics Manager in the Foreign Economics Department for 7 years. Before that, I was working as a Sales Manager for the official dealer of Mitsubishi in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

What prompted you to join the Bamboo team?

I always wanted to work for an American or European company. I also like Bamboo’s team spirit and I feel sure that IT is a very prosperous business nowadays.

What were some of your first impressions of working at Bamboo?

My first impressions about working for Bamboo Solutions were 100% positive. The people working here are very open, friendly, and hard-working. Up until this point in time, I have not yet worked and interacted with Bamboo customers, but (as I type this) I will have the opportunity to do so later this week and I am very excited.

With over 70 products to learn, do you feel overwhelmed?  What’s your strategy for getting up to speed?

I do not really feel overwhelmed with the company’s product range. I plan to learn about each product Bamboo has to offer, taking a step–step approach, beginning with the most popular products first.

Other than your deep and abiding love of extending SharePoint, what interests or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?

I like cars very much. I love learning new information about any tech innovations and designs, along with systems that help increase the safety of driving.  Also, I like watching the Discovery channel, and I really love getting together with my family and friends whether it is to just have some fun, or with a purpose like when I may need a little help, wisdom, or advice.
