Editor’s note: As readers of our 2009 Year in Review series will have likely gathered, Bamboo is currently undergoing rapid growth. Some of our new hires have been with us for a couple of months now, but with new faces appearing in the office seemingly daily in recent weeks, we thought it would be a good idea to introduce the new folks to Bamboo Nation. You should expect to see many of these new faces beginning to appear regularly here in the Team Blog over the course of the year.

What’s your professional background?
I bring to Bamboo Solutions over 9 years of B2B sales experience and partner relations-building in the software arena. I’m looking forward to utilizing my skills to help Bamboo exceed its 2010 sales goals.
What prompted you to join the Bamboo team?
The opportunity to join an exciting and growing company presented itself, and I wasn’t going to pass it up. My dear friend and now colleague once again, Lucy Ashby, thought of me and felt I would be a great fit at Bamboo. After making it through the grueling interview process, my great new team felt the same, so here I am, nail gun and all!
What are some of your first impressions of working at Bamboo?
There’s food everywhere and every day. I’ve also had a chance to speak with customers/prospects, and I’m amazed at the enthusiasm they have for Bamboo’s products, which only confirms my initial thoughts when this opportunity came about that I was joining a really special and innovative company where great things are happening daily.
With over 60 products to learn, do you feel overwhelmed? What’s your strategy for getting up to speed?
My last job had only 2 products to offer, so the fact that Bamboo has so many solutions is truly exciting for me. Not just because of the near-endless possibilities, but mainly because at Bamboo you are dealing with a ‘solution’ type of sale. Solution selling is where selling has moved to, customers/prospects want to buy solutions and not just a product. My strategy is to completely immerse myself into all the products, not only by reading about and watching what they do, but also by hearing firsthand from customers/prospects what their own experience has been like and why they are considering Bamboo.
Other than your deep and abiding love of Web Parts, what interests or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
In my downtime, I enjoy building load-bearing servers… I mean walls. I’m a huge sports fan, football being my favorite, go SKINS!!!! I enjoy the great outdoors, summer and fall are my seasons of choice, traveling anywhere new or old is always exciting, and of course, being around family and friends is extremely important to me. Laughter is the key to keeping it light so when you see me, don’t be shocked if I always have a smile on my face, but don’t call me smiley Big Smile … I probably just set myself up. Oh, well…
