Editor’s note: Longtime readers may recall our “New Faces” series, in which we would introduce our new hires to Bamboo Nation. Shamefully, my count, there are nearly 20 “new” faces at Bamboo since the series last appeared (in the spring of 2011!). In other words, we’re long overdue to make some introductions, so let’s not delay any longer, and continue making up for lost time…
When did you join the Bamboo Solutions team, and what is your role?
I decided to join the Bamboo team in the fall of 2012, as it seemed like a great place to work, with a good work-life balance, which I lacked in my previous job. In my current role, I am the Senior Accountant.
What are your personal goals regarding your position for the remainder of 2013?
My personal goal in my current position is to streamline processes and improve efficiency and internal controls in the Accounting department.
What’s your professional background?
I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2009 with a BS in Economics/Finance. I previously worked as a Senior Accountant at Fedbid in Tysons.
What prompted you to join the Bamboo team?
The right opportunity presented itself at the right time.
What were some of your first impressions of working at Bamboo?
I was and am thoroughly impressed the technology we have developed in-house – not only for our external customers, but also for our internal systems used employees to be as efficient as possible.
With over 70 products to learn, did/do you feel overwhelmed? What’s your strategy been for getting up to speed?
Working with Bamboo’s products, and becoming knowledgeable and staying updated with these products is not directly applicable for my job duties.
Other than your deep and abiding love of extending SharePoint, what interests or hobbies do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I love spending time with my dog. I also love to experiment with new recipes for baking to satiate my love for sugar.
