The past few weeks have involved a whirlwind of new technology being thrown at me as I’ve ramped up my understanding of Bamboo Solutions Web Parts and solutions. With each passing week, the products and SharePoint technology have made more sense, but some of the pieces were still missing. Joining Bamboo with a limited background in working with SharePoint put me at a disadvantage and, though it was a challenge I welcomed, I jumped at the chance to attend a Mindsharp training session designated for “Power End Users” which had come highly recommended by coworkers. I was eager to begin the Mindsharp training last week in the hopes of putting together some of the puzzle pieces regarding SharePoint that were still missing for me.
Hands down, the Mindsharp class was one of the best training sessions I have ever attended, and I would highly recommend anyone looking to use SharePoint to seriously consider the Mindsharp organization. The Power End User class filled in all of the missing pieces that I had struggled to understand on my own. The training was great, and I learned so much in the four days content was covered that I can only begin to share the topics which were covered. From creating sites, workflows, blogs, wiki pages, and site administration … this merely skims the surface of the topics which were taught over the course of the four-day class.
Course Instructor Tami Bolton provided a down-to-earth training style and welcomed any and all questions that came up. She made herself available to come in early or stay late for students looking to review the topics that had been addressed. The pace at which the material was covered was spot-on, and the exercises provided real-world examples that I use on a daily basis. I hope to further my knowledge of SharePoint by attending the Mindsharp class on SharePoint Administration the next time it is available in the D.C. area.
