Cloud Charting for Office 365

Using Bamboo’s Cloud Parts™ for SharePoint, you can customize Office365. The initial Cloud Parts release in Bamboo Labs consists
of different charts. In this post, I will show how you can add a pie chart to your page.

Begin  navigating to our Cloud Parts page and select the Pie Chart Cloud Part:

Before you can download the Cloud Part, you need to sign in. If you don’t have an account
you can create one here:

login

Download and save the zip archive on your computer:

download

Extract the dwp file from the zip archive and upload it to the Web Part gallery in Office365.
Go to the top level site settings and then select Web Parts under galleries and upload the dwp file:

You can create a new group when you upload the dwp file so it will be easy to find the Cloud Part:

Before we do anything else, we need to make sure we have a list with some numeric data
that we can display. I will use a list called “fruit” where I just list some different fruit and their quantity.
If you already have a list that has a field with numeric values, you can use that list.

Now we can create a new Web Part page and add the pie chart to it. Select Edit Page, then
Insert, and More Web Parts. Now you can select the pie chart from the list of Web Parts:

Once the Cloud Part has been added to the page, select Edit Web Part from the menu. This will
display a logon dialog. Enter your email address and the password that you used to sign up for
My Bamboo:

Once you have entered your account info and pressed Submit, you will see the tool part:

Select the List, View, Label and, finally, the Value field from the dropdowns. When
you’re done, press OK:

You should now have a nice pie chart displayed. Next, you can try some of the other charts.
