Bamboo Product Roadmap Preview

We are coming up on two years since SharePointXperts purchased Bamboo Solutions in October of 2016.  In that time we have accomplished so many things that created the foundation for growth.

Since our acquisition, we have been working hard to provide a solid future for our products that include not only support for current versions of SharePoint but new SharePoint versions as well. This includes SP 2019 and of course Office365. To get ready for that, we have had several releases over the past three years of the product that built the foundation for this future. This includes updating the internal framework, installation procedures, and license manager. All of these have created a more stable and easy-to-use product. This year we focused on our first major release for SharePoint 2019. During that effort, we have refreshed the code, fixed outstanding reported bugs, and new bugs found during our regression testing across all versions of the products – 2019, 16, and 13.

One thing that has impressed me the most is the support from our customers as we went through so many changes. For sure this has signaled to us that Bamboo products are critical to thousands of organizations and that the customer wants to be with us as they transition to a future version of SharePoint, both on-prem and online.

So what is next?

Over the next two years, we are going to migrate the rest of our catalog of products from classic server-side components to front-end SPFx-compliant products that we call Cloud Parts. We already have 11 products that are being used by many customers, but it is clear that our install base wants the same features as their current on-prem products, now in SharePoint online. Let’s face it, there are years and years of product development put into how our web parts work, what we need to focus on is making that functionality available in SharePoint online.

To do this, we are focusing on the most used products and the features most needed to create an MVP version of each product.

Stay tuned for more great things coming from Bamboo!
