Announcing the Release of List Bulk Import 2.5

With the introduction of an enterprise-wide platform such as SharePoint to an organization, it takes users time to adapt to their new environment, and to get used to new ways of accomplishing their daily tasks. Providing them with ready access to their existing data in SharePoint soon after implementation helps allow end users to get up and running quickly and easily. List Bulk Import allows you to focus on designing the best way to use SharePoint for your business rather than worrying about migrating your existing data to the new platform.

With the new release, we’ve made List Bulk Import even more robust, with an extended list of authentication support. With the 2.5 release, we now support:

  • SharePoint 2007
    • Windows
    • Forms (Forms-based Authentication)
  • SharePoint 2010
    • Windows (Classic Mode)
    • Windows (Claims-based)
    • Forms-based Authentication
  • And last but not least (we’re really proud of this one), SharePoint Online!

With the release of version 2.5, a wealth of new features and capabilities has also been introduced to List Bulk Import.

When you create a new import job, you can select from a variety of sources, including:

  • Excel or delimited text file (txt, csv, or xls/xlsx);
  • SQL Server (ODBC Driver); and
  • Existing SharePoint List (SharePoint 2007, SharePoint 2010, or SharePoint Online / Office 365).

When you replicate a file structure job, you can:

  • Replicate files from local or network file directory; or
  • Replicate files from SharePoint Server.

Creating unattended (scheduled) imports are now even easier with the new “Import Scheduler” feature. This feature provides you with the means to quickly create a new scheduled import filling out a simple form. List Bulk Import now automatically creates the new Windows Task for you.
