For all of you .NET Framework users, you will be happy to know that, in Windows 8, Microsoft supports both .NET Framework 3.5 (the same model used in previous Windows releases) as well as .NET Framework 4.5 (the newest version). However, they’re not enabled default, so if you wish to use either one, you will need to manually turn them on.
- To start, click on Settings on the right-hand side of your desktop.
- Open the Control Panel.
- Go to Programs and Features and select Turn Windows features on or off:
- To enable .NET Framework, check the box that is next to it:
- Make sure that all of the functions you need enabled are checked. Click OK to update your settings (Note: This may take a minute or two):
