Remember last week when I blogged that Bamboo would be fielding an all-star team at the SharePoint Evolution Conference in London this week? Well, it seems that Iceland’s Eyjafjallajokull volcano had other plans and, as it turns out, ye olde humble correspondent was the only Bamboo staffer to make it to London before the airports shut down last Thursday. Somewhat ironically, of the four of us who were meant to be here at the conference, I’m the only one who wasn’t scheduled for booth duty. You see, the pre-Eyjafjallajokull plan had me performing my customary role at conferences, bringing the sessions to you, Bamboo Nation, via the magic of blogging. The post-Eyjafjallajokull plan, however, finds me manning the Bamboo booth as a one-man show (though I may be able to pop into a session or two), so if you’re lucky enough to have made it to London (or, indeed, are from the U.K.), by all means, please stop by booth #17 in the exhibit hall for a chat.
When you stop by the booth, be sure to also stop by the neighboring booths, conveniently featuring a pair of Bamboo Partners: ICS Solutions, who boast over 300 dedicated SharePoint consultants on staff (be sure to check out their very cool Dip Into SharePoint 2010 portal); and Syntergy, who provide SharePoint products and services including their flagship product, Replicator for SharePoint. Stephen Waterman is here from ICS Solutions, and Matt Davis and Peter Dellmann are here representing Syntergy. Matt Davis is one of the technical folks at Syntergy, and since he’s worked with Bamboo Web Parts, here’s a tip: if you’ve got technical questions about Bamboo Web Parts while attending the SharePoint 2010 Evolution Conference, you might do better asking Matt than me!). Also in the neighborhood are the friendly folks from ClearPeople, who provide SharePoint consulting, development, and support services. They’re located just across the aisle from the Bamboo booth and merit a visit as well. And I would certainly be remiss was I not to mention the good folks at echoTechnology, who have generously provided free Wi-Fi access to all conference attendees.
The exhibit hall was closed during this morning’s keynote, which was delivered by Steve Smith of Combined Knowledge and an all-star cast of SharePoint experts (and Evolution Conference speakers) including Brett Lonsdale, Eric Shupps, and Spencer Harbar. Look for my post on that keynote soon right here.
