On the heels of Asia, South America, and Antarctica, the Sharing the Point (STP) Tour, will mark its fourth continent in under two years next month when STP team members converge on Africa for what promises to be an absolutely epic tour. With four official events, two of which will see STP joining forces with SharePoint Saturday for the first-ever “team-ups,” this is already shaping up to be an historic tour.
For this tour, STP veterans Joel Oleson, Mark Miller, Michael Noel, Paul Swider, and yours truly are thrilled to be joined noted SharePoint experts Eric Harlan, Jim Bob Howard, and Alistair Pugin. Alistair and Jim Bob have already done a remarkable job working with Microsoft and local SharePoint communities “on the ground” to lay the foundation for a successful tour, and Eric marks the first member of the SharePoint team at Microsoft to come aboard the STP Express. Welcome one and all, gents!
The official events on the STP Africa tour are as follows:
- 9-7-2012 Johannesburg, South Africa
- 9-8-2012 Cape Town, South Africa
- 9-15-2012 Nairobi, Kenya
- 9-17-2012 Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Registration for all events is now open, and you’ll find links to register for each event at the official Agenda page. Attendance at all events is free to members of the SharePoint community, and it can’t possibly be overstated what a debt of gratitude is due Colligo for stepping up as the global sponsor of STP Africa. Quite simply, without our friends at Colligo, this tour very well may not have come together, and the STP team truly can’t thank them enough for their generous sponsorship. Once we’re underway, look for tour updates to be coming your way from some truly spectacular locations, largely thanks to Colligo Briefcase, which marries the simplicity of the iPad to the security of SharePoint.
We’ll be revealing additional details via updates to the official STP site in the weeks leading up to the tour, but there’s one thing I can promise you right now: Team STP will be reaching new heights with this tour.
