Enterprise Alert Management for Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online
Alert Plus is an enterprise alert management platform designed to replace and enhance SharePoint Alerts. The platform includes end-user alert creation, centralized alert administration, Azure-based alert processing, Microsoft Graph integration, and ongoing compatibility updates as Microsoft continues to evolve SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
Alert Plus is licensed as an annual platform subscription based on your organization size. Customers then select the platform option that best fits their operational and security requirements.

What is an Active Alert?
An Active Alert is a saved Alert Plus configuration that monitors a SharePoint list, library, folder, or item for changes. Your Active Alert count is based on the number of alert configurations you have created—not the number of email notifications sent. An Active Alert may trigger thousands of times without affecting your Active Alert capacity.

Step 2: Choose Your Platform Option
Alert Plus offers two platform options to meet different hosting, security, and governance requirements.
Option 1: Bamboo Managed Platform
Recommended for most customers
With the Bamboo Managed Platform, Bamboo hosts and manages the complete Alert Plus processing platform within our secure Microsoft Azure environment.
This option is ideal for organizations that want a fully managed alerting platform without managing Azure infrastructure.

How Capacity Works
Your Annual Platform Subscription already includes a base number of Alerts based on your SharePoint Online user tier. Additional capacity is simply added to your included capacity.
Example: A Tier 2 subscription includes 5,000 Active Alerts. Adding a 5,000 Active Alert Capacity Block increases your total managed capacity to 10,000 Active Alerts.
Option 2: Customer Managed Platform
With the Customer Managed Platform, Alert Plus is deployed within your own Microsoft Azure subscription while Bamboo provides ongoing platform updates, backend support, and technical guidance.
This option is ideal for organizations with internal cloud governance, compliance, or security requirements that require services to run within their own Azure tenant.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does this pricing take effect?
New customers receive current Alert Plus Enterprise Platform pricing immediately.
Existing Alert Plus customers will transition to the new pricing model at the time of their annual subscription renewal. Bamboo will provide advance notice prior to renewal and work with each customer to determine the platform option that best fits their organization.
What Azure costs should I expect if I host Alert Plus in my own Azure subscription?
Customers selecting the Customer Managed Platform are responsible for their own Azure infrastructure costs.
Alert Plus uses standard Microsoft Azure services, including Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Managed Identity, Microsoft Graph, and optional email delivery services such as SendGrid or SMTP.
Azure costs vary based on alert volume, activity level, and customer configuration. Most customers should expect a modest monthly Azure cost for the required backend services.

How secure is Bamboo’s Managed Platform?
Security is a core design principle of Alert Plus.
The Bamboo Managed Platform runs in Microsoft Azure and uses secure platform services, encrypted communications, Azure Key Vault for secrets management, Managed Identity authentication, platform monitoring, and regular maintenance.
Organizations with strict compliance or governance requirements may choose the Customer Managed Platform and deploy Alert Plus within their own Azure tenant.

Why are there two platform options?
Organizations have different operational, security, and compliance requirements.
The Bamboo Managed Platform is designed for customers that want a fully managed service with no Azure administration.
The Customer Managed Platform is designed for customers that require services to run within their own Microsoft Azure tenant while still receiving ongoing Alert Plus updates and support from Bamboo.
Both options include the same Alert Plus functionality.
Looking Ahead
As Alert Plus continues to evolve, Bamboo Solutions regularly reviews its pricing model to ensure it remains fair, predictable, and aligned with the value customers receive.
Our current pricing combines an annual platform subscription with platform options designed to support organizations of all sizes.
As we gain additional operational experience and customer feedback, Bamboo may introduce a usage-based pricing model based on the number of active alerts managed by the platform. This approach would more closely align pricing with actual platform utilization and ensure that organizations with smaller deployments are not subsidizing significantly larger environments.
If Bamboo adopts an active alert pricing model in the future:
- Existing customers will receive advance notice before any pricing changes take effect.
- Any migration to a new pricing model will be communicated well in advance of renewal.
- Our goal will continue to be simple, transparent pricing that scales with each organization’s needs while supporting continued investment in platform reliability, security, performance, and new features.
